Then the local tea farmers surrounded the tea trees with rocks and soil and planted it again. Because the branches of the tea trees were interlaced, which looked like the pattern on the back of the turtle. So the tea farmers called it Shui Jin Gui (Golden Water Turtle). Shui means “water”; Jin means “gold”; Gui means “turtle”.
Larter, the tea farmers of Tian Xin Yan and that of Niu Lan Keng sued many times for those tea trees, which costed a lot of money, so sometimes it is called “lawsuit tea”. Since then, Shui Jin Gui has become famous.
